Connecting with the Cat Shelf Lady

Reading time: 4 minutes

Although we may be considered a small independent business, we have big dreams here at Pryde Pets of revolutionising indoor enrichment for cats. Which is why we were so excited to recently connect with Hayley Williams, a cat design expert and founder of Cat Therapy, who is also affectionately nicknamed “the Cat Shelf Lady”.

One thing we adore about the cat community is our shared devotion to our feline friends; ultimately, we all want to offer our kitties the best quality of life possible, and to ensure they’re happy, healthy and comfortable in their homes.

Which is why we felt such deep kismet when connecting with Hayley, as it quickly became clear that she shared our passion for discovering new and innovative ways to enhance our cats’ wellbeing indoors.

(Without sacrificing on style, of course!)

So we were over the moon when Hayley chose to feature Pryde Pets on her website, after testing our Wall Meow-nted Cat Climbers with her own dynamic and super cute duo Luna and Leon.

Read the feature here.

Hayley’s Thoughts on Pryde Pets Cat Wall Shelves

We were deeply touched by Hayley’s review of our Wall Meow-nted Cat Climbers. Honestly, her words were so complimentary and positive that we struggled to narrow down our favorite comments.

Oh, who are we kidding! We were absolutely thrilled to spend time picking out our top quotes.

Here are a few highlights from Hayley’s feature of Pryde Pets Cat Climbers:

“cat shelves that look like works of art.”

“One of the things I love most about these shelves is their modular nature. The concept makes it super easy to let your creativity go wild.”

“The founders of Pryde Pets clearly love cats ... I was thoroughly impressed from the start, and, once I had them [the Climbers] on the wall they continued to impress.”

The Importance of Indoor Enrichment For Cats

What we also hugely appreciated was that with Hayley’s extensive knowledge of cat wellbeing and behavior, she knew exactly why it’s important for cats to be offered this form of stimulation and for their natural instincts to climb be satisfied.

That is exactly the solution that wall mounted cat shelves can offer your feline friend; the opportunity to increase their physical exercise indoors, flex their mental muscles as they navigate these vertical pathways, and for them to have a private, cozy space where they can relax in total comfort away from other pets and small children.

Indeed, statistics indicate that almost 60% of domestic cats are overweight, primarily due to a combination of diet and lack of exercise. But the silver lining is that a simple way to increase your cat’s exercise is through nurturing this need to climb.

Climbing can also offer the added benefit of supporting cat joint health, in helping the strength and flexibility of their joints. This form of exercise, which in turn can help cats to maintain a healthy weight, then has the added potential to reduce the development of arthritis as they age.

It’s a win-win in our eyes!
